Calgary Zoo - using Orinoco wireless devices and range extending antennas the Calgary Zoo was able to connect PC-based point of sale terminals to the central inventory database. This provided the ability to access concession stands and merchandise kiosks in remote area of the park. By networking these areas manual entry of the days receipts was eliminated.

Widdifield & Co - using an Apple Airport router with Orinoco desktop LAN cards, this Calgary accounting firm was able to network 4 computers in their office. Before wirelessly networking their computers to a high speed data modem, each computer used dial up networking to access the internet and send/receive e-mail. Files were backed up daily using floppys disks. Once networked, all users shared high speed internet and e-mail access and the file backup process could be done on one computer, copying files over the network to be saved on CD ROM.

CISolutions - using Proxim Symphony wireless devices this Calgary consulting firm was able to network 2 laptops and 2 desktop computers. In addition to sharing files and two printers, the wirless network provided internet/e-mail access and permitted laptop users to move between different rooms in the office.

Sensormatic Corporation - using a 3COM AirConnect access point this Boca Raton, Florida based company was able to extend its existing wired campus style network to a small wireless LAN consisting of 3 laptop and 3 desktop computers.
